A BASIC GUIDE TO THE PRADO

The Prado National Museum is located in one of the most representative neoclassical buildings in Madrid. Its construction began in 1785 by Juan de Villanueva. The museum has the best collection of Spanish artwork, a significant representation of Flamenco and Italian paintings as well as beautiful German, French and English paintings. Its collection is also complemented with numerous sculptures. The Prado Museum, along with the Thyssen Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum, form a part of the Art Walk (Paseo del Arte), the largest concentration of artwork on the planet.
